Review: Carl's Jr. - CrissCut French Fries

Carl's Jr.'s CrissCut French Fries are seasoned much like curly fries usually are at other fast food establishments. They'll cost you a little more than Carl's default Natural-Cut Fries, but deliver more than the standard potato flavor.

I've always like the cut of criss-cut fries; as a child, I always wondered how they accomplished the feat of cutting fries in such a manner. It was not until I saw an infomercial of a slicer that I saw how it was done. It's still pretty neat.

Beyond novelty and aesthetics, the cut allows for a bigger, thicker fries that cooks evenly and quickly.

Carl's Jr.'s version is quite tasty and give you a nice crisp and satisfying crunch, but for some reason I got tired of the taste awfully quick. After eating about four fries or so, I didn't really feel like eating more. Maybe there was too much flavor like in some version of Doritos where, although the flavor is good, it's also an overload.

Still, fans of seasoned French fries would be pleased with this version.
