Frozen Friday: Stouffer's - French Bread Pizza - Pepperoni

Stouffer's French Bread Pizza comes in several flavors including my favorite topping, Pepperoni. They're basically a lengthwise sliced piece of French Bread with tomato sauce, real mozzarella cheese, and toppings. A pack of two goes for $3.39 at my local supermarket, but it's not uncommon to see them on sale for $1.50 or less.

These were a bit interesting to prepare as the recommended preparation requires both a microwave and a toaster oven. First, you nuke it for about a minute to get it warmed up and then you toasted it for about five to get a crispy finish. Not as convenient as those neat grey crisping sleeves, but not exactly a major time sink either. Plus the result is a little better. Then again, it wouldn't be much harder to make your own French bread pizza.

This one's just okay for me. The bread turns out nice and crunchy, but it's not nice and soft in the middle like a good French bread should be. The cheese is fine, not as much or as stretchy as the picture, but fine. The tomato sauce is fine as well. I'd like a thinner, crispier pepperoni though, the thick slices are just kinda soft. So yeah, just okay.
