Review: Burger King - Cookie Dough Pie

Burger King's Cookie Dough Pie is a limited-time item of sliced cream pie goodness with pieces of cookie dough thrown in for good measure. I'm not sure if it's available at all locations but I picked up my slice for $1.49 at my local BK.

I actually wanted a Butterfinger Cream Pie which was on the menu but to my disappointment, they did not have. (I know?! Right?!). Nonetheless, cream pies are a Burger King offering that they really don't play up enough; most of the other major chains don't offer anything similar and a lot of the limited-time flavors you really can't get at the supermarket.
The pies are sold from the fridge in sealed boxes by the slice and are made especially for Burger King. The Cookie Dough Pie has a vanilla cream filling with small lumps of soft cookie dough and an Oreo or pseudo-Oreo crust (same difference) topped with little chocolate chips.
Surprisingly, the pie was well thawed out, I half-expected it to be almost frozen. The cream part was actually very light and soft like whipped cream. The lumps of cookie dough added flavor without being as hard as the bits you find in ice cream. They give you a fork to eat it with but I'm a barbarian (i.e. I forgot they gave me a fork).

Burger King's Cookie Dough Pie was pretty tasty but I still have Butterfinger Pie on my mind (sadness!). Hopefully, it was coming and not going. Still, Cooke Dough Pie was a fair consolation prize.
