Review: Pepperidge Farm - Chocolate Cookie Collection

Pepperidge Farm's Chocolate Cookie Collection features seven varieties of Pepperidge Farm cookies dipped in or sandwiching dark chocolate. They're mostly meant for sharing or when you have guests over but that hasn't stopped me from eating them out of a cookie jar. They're normally around $8 for a box but I scored this particular box on sale for $5.

The seven varieties of cookies in the set are: the Black & White Milano which has one regular Milano cookie and one chocolate Milano cookie with a layer of dark chocolate holding them together; the Lisbon, a round cookie which is half-dipped in chocolate and has little bits of chocolate baked in; the Tahiti, two textured coconut cookies with a layer of dark chocolate between them, the Geneva, a crunchy pecan cookie with a layer of rich chocolate on one side; the Orleans, two thin, crisp cookie held together by a layer of dark chocolate; the Double Chocolate Milano, like a regular Milano but with double the chocolate in the middle; and finally, the Dark Chocolate Bordeaux, two textured crispy cookies with a dark chocolate layer.
As you can see, the cookies are ready for guests upon opening but not so much for storage.
If you're a fan of chocolate, this is the set for you; every single cookie has a deep, rich dark chocolate layer and the cookies are among the most popular of the Pepperidge Farm collection. All of the cookies are yummy and distinctive but my favorites have to be the Orleans and the Bordeaux.
Side One.
The Orleans is a lot like a Milano in texture but thinner and more delicate. The Bordeaux has a nice texture that I like to let melt in my mouth. Between the two I always make a beeline for the Orleans first. The most generic cookie of the lot was probably the Lisbon which resembles a garden variety chocolate chip cookie.
Side Two.
Interestingly, the Genevas, with their layer of pecans on chocolate and extra crunchiness, were the last cookies of the box to be eaten. Still, all the cookies went pretty fast in my house.
