Bergen's Nutty Cookies hail from Poland but only cost me
$1.00 for a 100g package at Big Lot's International aisle. They're actually hazelnut cookies which is something I've never encountered before.
These are fairly similar to thin sugar cookies with a bit of a grainy texture and bits of hazelnuts baked in. The nutty flavor is pretty interesting. It doesn't bring to mind hazelnuts specifically but I don't really eat hazelnuts that often.
The tops of the cookies are covered in granulated sugar. While interesting and not at all bad tasting, Bergen's Nutty Cookies just aren't a flavor profile that appeals to me. It's just one of those things some people would like and some people wouldn't.
