Review: KFC - Mixed Veggies

Mixed Veggies is offered at Southern California KFC restaurants as a healthy alternative to the more KFC-like sides. It's often advertised with KFC's Grilled Chicken. The vegetable mix features a blend of broccoli, green beans, and red bell peppers.

It's $1.89 for an individual-sized order.

This is one of the things I wouldn't normally get at KFC. For the same price, you could buy a whole bag of frozen veggies that you can quickly nuke in the microwave and get the same result. Actually, I've microwaved/steamed vegetables that turned out better.

As you can see from the pictures, the vegetables were a bit overcooked. It's really not the vibrant green that you typically want. That being said, the veggies weren't bad, but they weren't good either. They didn't seem to be seasoned other than a little bit of salt.

They're probably a little better and healthier than the veggies served in the cafeteria back in my elementary school days, but seriously, you can easily make the same thing at home in the microwave for the same price. If you find yourself at a KFC in Southern California and want something healthier, I guess you could get the Mixed Veggies.
