Review: Papa John's - Chicken Strips

Papa John's Chicken Strips feature breaded and baked chicken breast strips.

They come in an order of seven pieces for $5.99. The next size up is 30 pieces for $24.99..

My order came with two dipping sauces as part of the price. Any additional sauces cost extra. I went with Ranch and honey mustard.

Unsurprisingly, the Chicken Strips are very much like if you went and bought Tyson's frozen chicken strips and baked them in your oven at home. As such, these are pretty much a convenience item for when you don't want to turn on the oven.

Like baked frozen chicken strips at home these are not fresh, but still decent. The chicken was tender, but just slightly moist rather than juicy. There was with a bit of nice crispness to the breading here and there, but nothing approaching a satisfying crunch. The taste is pretty familiar and neutral for dipping.

I thought the strips went especially nice with the honey mustard dipping sauce.

I wouldn't get Papa John's Chicken Strips again just because I can just buy a bag of Tyson's chicken strips for the pretty much that same thing, but for less... although... firing up the oven does get pretty hot in the summer.
