News: Campbell's Soup Offers Extensive Lines of New Soups

Campbell's Soup is going all out to attract the next generation of soup eaters with new lines of soup amounting to a huge expansion of varieties featuring bolder, more worldly, and fanciful flavors.

There are three new lines of soups as well as additions to Campbell's original line of condensed soups and Chunky soups.

Here's what's new:

- Gourmet Bisques which come in cartons with flavors like Sweet Potato Tomatillo and Thai Tomato Coconut.

- Slow Kettle Style Soups feature a wider, microwaveable container. They were introduced fairly recent and boast two new flavors this year: Kickin’ Crab & Sweet Corn Chowder with Flame Roasted Onions & Cayenne Pepper and Roasted Chicken & Chardonnay with Fire-Roasted Tomatoes, Aged Parmesan & Pasta.

- There are six new Campbell’s Go soups which draw inspiration from global cuisines, and feature flavors like Moroccan Style Chicken with Chickpeas and Coconut Curry with Chicken & Shiitake Mushrooms. They come in microwaveable pouches and are apparently aimed at cash-strapped 20-somethings.

- Chunky soups are getting some love with three new flavors: Jammin’ Jerk Chicken with Rice & Beans, Kickin’ Buffalo-Style Chicken, and Chipotle Chicken & Corn Chowder.

Finally, there's even a new condensed soup, Sun-Ripened Yellow Tomato, which joins last year's newcomer, Harvest Orange Tomato in the soup aisle.

At the very least, there now seems to be a Campbell for every type of container...

  1. A constantly overheard comment on the grocery store soup aisle is the minute size of the cans and queries about when and how much smaller those cans will become.
