Frozen Friday: Lean Cuisine - Chicken Fettuccini

Lean Cuisine's Chicken Fettuccini is simple enough and features cubed roasted white meat chicken and fettuccini pasta in an alfredo sauce.

A 9.25-ounce box regularly sells for $3.29 at one of my local supermarkets (with sales bringing it down to the $2 to $3 range).

There aren't any surprises with something as standard as this version of Chicken Fettuccini. There weren't any strong notes of flavors from either cheeses or herbs and, being a Lean Cuisine, the sauce is mostly skim milk which cuts out some of the creaminess you might expect and left some of my bites feeling a bit watery.

There was just the right amount of chicken and the pieces were tender and juicy with a nicely browned surface.

The fettuccini noodles were also tender, but maybe overly so. They didn't always pick up the sauce very well which didn't help on the flavor front.

The end result is a simple dish that veers a little too much towards bland plainness. I understand cutting the fat and calories, but the flavor could have been upped with garlic and spices.
