Review: Nabisco - Belvita Chocolate Breakfast Biscuits

Nabisco's Chocolate Belvita are one of the latest additions to their line of breakfast biscuits. They promise "nutritious sustained energy" and the taste of chocolate.

A 8.8-ounce box comes with five individually wrapped packs. I got this box on sale for $2.99 ($4.69 regular price).

Each pack comes with four biscuits and the top of the biscuit is embossed with what looks like two fronds of wheat. You can see bits of grains mottling the surfaces which adds up to 19 grams of whole grain per serving. There's several B vitamins added for the "sustained energy" bit.

Taste-wise, it's pretty good; like eating a few chocolate wafers for breakfast. Not quite as chocolaty or sweet as an Oreo, but a bit better for you. The taste reminds me of a chocolate graham cracker with a slight bit of graininess.

They're pretty good. Nothing to jump off the walls about, but good. I think you'd get more mileage for the money from a box of cereal, but that's not as portable.

I'd consider them if you like the idea of eating somewhat nutritious cookies for breakfast that might help get you through to lunch.
