Review: Starbucks - Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino

Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino features coffee blended with mocha sauce and toffee-nut-flavored syrup, milk, and ice. It's then topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and a mixture of turbinado sugar and sea salt.

A local Starbucks was giving free samples in little cups so I gave it a try.

Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is a favorite of mine around this time of year, so it's no surprise that I found myself liking the coffee-frozen-drink version.

The mocha toffee nut Frappuccino portion has a decent, sweet chocolate nuttiness followed by light buttery notes and the barest whisper of coffee. Stirring in the whipped cream, adds a creamy richness and a saltiness that enhances the base flavors to make for an enjoyable, if slightly over-sweet, experience.

Because the fall hasn't quite yet hit here in California, it's still pretty hot and Starbucks Salted Caramel Frappuccino really provides a tasty, icy, and refreshing treat to combat the last bits of summer heat.
