Review: Sonic - Smoked Chipotle Breakfast Burrito

Sonic's Smoked Chipotle Breakfast Burrito is a limited-time offer that consists of marinated sirloin steak, smoked chipotle sauce, jalapeƱos, grilled onions, golden tots, fluffy eggs and melty cheddar cheese.

I received mine courtesy of Sonic, but normally it costs $3.59.

Sonic's burritos are long, but narrow. The tortilla could have been fresher and was a little dry. I think it would have been better if it was folded fat, Chipotle-style. But long and narrow is pretty standard as far as fast food chains go.

The filling was mostly tasteless scrambled eggs and I would have liked more cheese and tots to provide more flavor. I didn't really notice the onions.

The sauce was slightly spicy and not too apparent in the burrito. The jalapenos had a substantial kick though.

The steak is supposed to be marinated, but didn't have much flavor. I suppose it was tender enough.

Overall, Sonic's Smoked Chipotle Breakfast Burrito was a miss for me. It was a largely pedestrian burrito that lacked flavor and as such, was mostly forgettable. To be fair, Sonic gives you salsa, which would help a little, but I think if the burrito was better prepared and better proportioned, I would have liked it much better.
