Review: Starbucks - Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream is a new seasonal flavor they started offering this month. It features pumpkin spice ice cream swirled with coffee ice cream (or vice versa, it's a pretty even mix).

A pint retails for $3.99 (around $3 on sale).

When I first pried open the lid of my pint of Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream, I was a bit puzzled to find a uniform pale orange ice cream facing me.

It took a wee bit of digging to reveal what looked like shadows on the ice cream, but was actually the pale brown coffee ice cream. They're both really light.

The ice cream is thick, creamy, and rich, but lightly flavored. The pumpkin spice portion was noticeable, but very mellow. I was a bit lost to find much coffee flavor at all. It appears here and there as a very light, easy-to-miss end note.

Overall, I would like more intensity from both the pumpkin spice ice cream and the coffee ice cream. While the ice cream is competent, the flavors are unlikely to satisfy lovers of pumpkin or coffee ice cream.
