News: Girl Scout Cookies - New Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion

The Girl Scouts will be selling a new cookie along with your favorites (and not-so-favorites) this year with new Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion.

Mango Cremes feature vanilla and coconut cookies with a mango-flavored creme filling.

If you've never heard of Nutrifusion before, it's a trademarked term and is probably meant to make you think these new cookies might be good for you. They're more like slightly-better-than-a-regular-cookie-for-you.

Nutrifusion means that Mango Cremes are "enhanced with nutrients derived from fruit." Specifically the cookies contain "nutrients from natural whole food concentrate of (cranberry, pomegranate, orange, grape, strawberry, shitake mushrooms)." Since when are shitake mushrooms a fruit?

The nutrients are good for mostly 2% to 6% of your daily recommended intake of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin B1 (15%), and Vitamin B6 per serving. Otherwise the nutritional information for Mango Cremes is pretty comparable to most other Girl Scout cookies.

  1. "Since when are shitake mushrooms a fruit?" lol

These sound pretty good; I do love mango! Don't know if I'd get these over my tried and true Thin Mints, though... Mmm~

  3. If you want to know what these taste like, go ahead and find some suntan lotion and spread it on a shortbread cookie.
