News: Papa John's - Call Super Bowl Coin Flip Correctly for Free Pizza

Papa John's is inviting customers to call the coin toss for this year's Super Bowl, with a free large one-topping pizza in it for those who guess correctly.

They ran a similar promotion during last year's Super Bowl (Super Bowl XLVI) where Papa Rewards (their loyalty program) members collectively called the coin toss by popular vote and ended up each getting a free large one-topping pizza for their troubles when the coin landed "heads."

This year, participants can make the "heads" or "tails" call individually at the Papa John's website or at their Facebook page.

The deadline to vote is 11:59 pm PST on Saturday, February 2, 2013.

Participants who call the toss correctly will receive an email on Monday, February 4, 2013 with instructions on how to claim their pizza.

To further encourage you to vote, Papa John's is currently offering 50% off your next pizza (it was 35% earlier, but I guess they're making a push as the deadline looms) when you vote. You can get more details at the Papa John website as well.

If you're curious, in 46 Super Bowls, the coin has come up "heads" 25 times and "tails" 21 times.

  1. The rules state that up to four people can vote per household, so make sure to get others in on this if you want some insurance. If you can get two people to vote Heads and two people to vote Tails then you're pretty much guaranteed two free pizzas.
