News: Jack in the Box - New Hot Mess Burger

Jack in the Box creates a faux '80s rock band back story for their faux founder for the release of their latest burger, the Hot Mess Burger, named after Jack's new '80s-themed Hot Mess music video.

The Hot Mess Burger features a jumbo beef patty seasoned with salt and pepper, sliced jalapenos, onion rings, and melted white cheddar and pepper jack cheese between two sliced of grilled sourdough bread.

Along for the ride are two additional new, limited-time menu items: the Hot Mess Wedges and Hot Cinnamon Shake.

Hot Mess Wedges consist of lightly battered and fried potato wedges topped with melted white cheddar and pepper jack cheese, plus sliced jalapenos.

The Hot Cinnamon Shake blends vanilla ice cream and spicy cinnamon syrup with enough food coloring to give it a hot pink color. Like all of Jack's shakes, it's topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

The Hot Mess music video by Meat Riot (Jack's rock band back in the '80s according to the back story) is not the brand's first foray into music videos as this is the same company that brought us the Spicy Crispy Girls and Meaty Cheesy Boys back in the '90s.

For the whole Hot Mess experience (as well as limited-edition Meat Riot T-shirts for purchase and a $1 off coupon on the burger), you can check out www.hotmessburger.com.

  2. Ate one yesterday, they aren't the normal Jack in the Box Onion rings, they're miniature with a slightly different breading and stayed pretty crunchy despite the large amount of gooey cheese/sauce. The whole thing wasn't particularly spicy, but over all was pretty good, My overall impression was that of a giant beefy Jalapeno popper. Would eat again.
