News: KFC Now Offers Original Recipes Bites with Gravy

KFC is offering a special, limited-time combo featuring their Original Recipe Bites (first introduced last year) and their signature gravy. The combo is priced at $3.99 and features 6 Bites, a side, and a drink, along with your choice of dipping sauce.

Sauce choices include gravy, Creamy Buffalo, Honey BBQ, Ranch, and Honey Mustard.

Apparently, the Original Recipe Bites have been doing quite well: KFC claims to have sold over 300 million of them.

The Bites plus gravy combo is being marketed as a "grown-up" combination. Here's an ad spot promoting the new combo:


As to why KFC's gravy is brown (I always thought chicken gravy was a lighter shade), I put the question to KFC and they replied, "The Colonel made what was called “cracklin’ gravy,” which includes some bits of the chicken and breading. That is what gave it its brown color. So KFC gravy has always been brown." The more you know, right?
