Frozen Friday: Pepperidge Farm - Chocolate Chunk Cookie Cake

Pepperidge Farm's Chocolate Chunk Cookie Cake is like a cross between a chocolate chip cookie and a cake. The cake itself is interspersed with chocolate chunks and surrounded by a chocolate icing, topped with crumbled pieces of the brand's Chocolate Chunk cookies.

My local supermarket sells the 21.1 oz cake for $4.99.

The cake itself was on the dense side and brought to mind Sara Lee Pound Cake, except not nearly as buttery. It's roughly the same color as a chocolate chip cookie and has that slight bit of brown sugar flavor. It's not terribly moist, but it's moist enough and soft.

The chocolate icing is fairly weak on the chocolate front, but not too sweet.

Most of the chocolate flavor comes from the chocolate chunks inside the cake and chocolate chip cookie crumbles on the cake, but they aren't exactly plentiful.

Overall, Pepperidge Farm's Chocolate Chunk Cookie Cake was a decent cake for the money, but lacks a bit in the chocolate department and comes out a little plain.
