Review: Nabisco - Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream Oreo Cookies

Limited-edition Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream Oreos (stylized as "Shure, Bert!" as in Q: "Hey, Ernie want some sherbet?" A: "Shure, Bert!") purport the taste of rainbow sherbet in an creme filling sandwiched between two golden vanilla Oreo wafers.

A 15.25-oz package costs $2.79 on sale from my local Target.

The filling tastes somewhat like pink bubblegum to me rather than lime and raspberry sherbet. There's a bit of lime-raspberry flavor, but not much of the tanginess that I expect from sherbet.

On the plus side, it's not a marked departure, taste-wise from regular Golden Oreos. You get a fair amount of plain creme flavor, it's just tinged with a bubble gum flavor.

The vanilla cookies are the same as you get on any Golden Oreos. They taste good and give you a nice crispy crunch.

Overall, Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream Oreo cookies are worth a try if you're looking for some novelty although it doesn't quite deliver on the sherbet experience. Even if you don't like the gum-like flavor, it's fairly light and you're still left with the mostly intact flavor of the Golden Oreo. That being said I don't like the bubble-gum "sherbet" flavor.
