Review: Muller - Corner Yogurt: Choco Balls and Granola

Muller's Corner yogurt features lowfat yogurt with various toppings in a separate "corner" so that you can either flip the toppings onto the yogurt or dip the yogurt in the toppings however you like.

I recently tried the Choco Balls and Crunchy Granola flavors which came in 5.3-ounce container at 99 cents a piece on sale.

The yogurt itself is plain, sweetened yogurt with a smooth and creamy consistency. It's mild in flavor, but tasty and I found it to be just a little bit thicker than most mainstream brands. I really like the yogurt and can easily eat it on its own.

The Choco Balls are one of the more indulgent toppings available. They're basically tiny puffed rice crispies with a chocolate-flavored and white-chocolate-flavored coating.

They're pretty good if you like candy with your yogurt, but I tend to think of yogurt as a healthier snack or light meal and eating it with Choco Balls just makes it feel like a dessert for me.

I'm not sure if Crunchy Granola is actually healthier than Choco Balls, but I feel like it must be a little healthier, right? I mean it's like having cereal on your yogurt and, at the very least, there must be some whole grains and fiber in there. Plus, granola with yogurt is a pretty classic combination.

The granola here was lightly sweetened and satisfyingly crunchy. The wide corner cup it comes is wide enough to fit your spoon if you want to dip and is easily folded over to flip on top of the yogurt without any mess. The pieces are a little small, but it's not a problem unless you're trying to eat it in a bowl of milk (i.e. as cereal).

Overall, Muller Corners make for some pretty good yogurt eating and both Crunchy Granola and Choco Balls provide some crunchy texture and varied flavor depending on your preferences. Between the two, I'd probably pick the granola just because it feels more like breakfast to me, but you can't really go wrong with either choice. Corners also are available in Crispy Crunch, Strawberry, and Blueberry flavors, but I haven't tried those... yet.
