News: Jack in the Box - Two for $3 New Southern Style Biscuit Sandwiches

Jack in the Box has replaced their old buttermilk biscuits with new "Southern Style Biscuits," which are also buttermilk biscuits... (hopefully they're more buttery).

To promote the new biscuits, Jack is offering a limited-time two Biscuit Sandwiches for $3 deal.

There are two biscuit sandwich choices, which are basically bacon or country sausage plus the standard fried egg, and American cheese on a new Southern Style Biscuit.

The biscuit sandwiches are normally $2.99 in my area.

Here's the TV spot for the new biscuits and biscuit deal:

  1. I had one of these two days ago, although I didn't realize they were "new and improved." It was rather bland. I could have done without the biscuit at all, actually. But Carl's Jr.'s biscuits are amazing!

  2. Since this was a seasonal fall product and you're just reviewing it now, don't you think that's a bit like teasing? ("Oh, here is some delicious pumpkin bread pudding that you CAN'T GET ANYMORE...") ;)

  4. Yes... *if* they bring it back next year :P (Seriously though, I understand that things can and do get lost in the shuffle.)

  5. I agree Hardee's/Carl's Jr biscuits are a lot better, but Jack's new biscuits are a definate improvement over the old ones. Plus they use a real egg (rather than the folded egg patty thing) and most importantly breakfast is served all day! I wish Hardee's would do that!

  6. While the price is good, the biscuits really aren't. I got the two for $3 deal and ended up eating the bacon and cheese and tossing the rest. (For me, their eggs didn't work on the dry, tasteless biscuits.) I do like their real egg on other sandwiches.

  7. The old Jack in the Box biscuits definitely needed improving. They clearly had not been made from scratch. It's hard to imagine that this improved version could be better than the ones at Whataburger (as I'm a Texas resident) Chick-Fil-A, and Hardee's/Carl's Jr.

  8. I gotta try Carl's Jr's biscuits again.. I've had them a couple of times and I thought they were good, but I didn't see a huge difference between the other chains.. I also didn't think Jack's were all the bad in the past, not great but decent.. I probably wasn't paying enough attention lol these are kind of impulsive buys for me, more of a convenience thing.
