Krispy Kreme's holiday donuts in the US are mostly decoration, over in the UK, they take on more traditional Christmas desserts with the new Mince Pie Donut and Festive Truffle Donut.
The Mince Pie Donut (pictured left) is a yeast donut with a fruity mince pie filling, decorated with white icing, a red drizzled tree, and gold dust. Apparently, they're Krispy Kreme's take on the 'Monut' (seriously, these names are getting out of hand...). Mince Pie (or Mincemeat Pie) isn't so popular here in the US as it is in the UK, but you can find them here and there around Christmas time. Traditional mince pie filling is typically a mixture of meat, fruit, and spices.
The Festive Truffle Donut features a yeast donut filled with Chocolate Truffle Kreme with dark chocolate icing, a white drizzled tree, and gold dust.
