News: Burger King - New Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Burger King now offers a spicy version of their Original Chicken Sandwich plainly named the "Spicy Chicken Sandwich"

The new sandwich takes the white-meat long chicken patty of the Original Chicken Sandwich and takes it up a notch by adding cayenne and black pepper for some heat. The rest is the standard mayo and shredded lettuce on a long sesame seed bun.

Apparently, they looked at various peppers from the mild poblano to the very spicy ghost pepper and ended up going cayenne and black pepper.

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich carries a suggested retail price of $3.79, but is also available as part of Burger King's two for $5 mix and match deal along with the Original Chicken Sandwich, Big King Sandwich, and Alaskan Fish Sandwich.

The deal is slated to run through March 2, 2014.

I have to point out that the name is confusingly similar to their value-priced Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which, in turn, used to be called the "Spicy Chick'N Crisp Sandwich."
