Review: Nabisco - Sea Salt & Pepper Brown Rice Thins

Nabisco's Sea Salt & Pepper Brown Rice Thins are gluten-free, thin, rice crackers that riff off of their Wheat Thins brand.

A 3.5-oz box was $2.50.

Unlike the white rice version of Rice Thins, which are smaller and circular, these are square like Wheat Thins, but slightly larger and thicker.

A lot of snack crackers have been going to bigger, bolder flavors lately and these make for a nice throwback. There's just a light dusting of salt and black pepper to go with the underlying rice flavor (the pepper in particular is very light). There's a definite toasted rice flavor but not so much of the nuttiness I'd expect from brown rice.

In terms of texture, each cracker has a number of big air pockets and a hard crispiness. It's harder than say a Doritos chip and is more closer to a thick tortilla chips at a restaurant.

Overall, Nabisco Sea Salt & Pepper Brown Rice Thins make for some light snacking for those who prefer more subtle flavors paired with a substantial crunch.
