Frozen Friday: Breyers - Tiramisu Gelato Indulgences

Breyers' Tiramisu Gelato Indulgences features mascarpone gelato with espresso sauce on top of ladyfinger cookie pieces and dusted with cocoa. Gelato Indulgences is their new line of gelato with toppings and sauces.

A 28.5-fl oz container was $3.99.

The mascarpone gelato was tasty with the proper creamy, slightly eggy taste. It's fairly dense and smooth, but has a slight elastic quality to it; like they went overboard with the gum. It's not a dealbreaker but needs to be noted. The espresso sauce had almost the same texture but with a bittersweet coffee flavor and was layered on top.

The ladyfinger cookies pieces are at the very bottom of the container:

There's quite a bit of gelato to dig through to get to it.

Rather than espresso- or coffee liqueur-soaked soggy sponginess, the ladyfinger pieces are more like coffee-infused, crumbly, cookie pie crust pieces. I'm not sure how spongy ladyfingers would freeze but I like the choice; it added an extra texture that you can grab when (or if) you choose.

Overall, I liked the flavor and most of the various textures of Breyers Tiramisu Gelato Indulgences. I especially liked that, due to it being layered, you could pick and choose what you get in each bite.
