Review: Turtle Chocolate Chex Mix

Turtle Chocolate Chex Mix features the signature combination of chocolate, caramel, and nuts in a snack mix of rice and wheat Chex cereal, unsalted mini pretzels, candy-coated chocolate-flavored candies (i.e. stand-ins for M&M's), peanuts, and popcorn.

I bought an 8-oz bag for $1.99.

These are really good! There's a light coating of sweetened cocoa on everything and a good bit of variety between the various components. The cocoa is enough to impart just a touch of chocolaty notes to each bite but not so much that you miss out on the underlying cereal, pretzel, or popcorn.

The popcorn and some of the Chex cereal pieces are covered in a really tasty buttery caramel coat that reminds me of Caramel Bugles and Crunch 'n Munch. Combined with the cocoa, it provides an addictive one-two punch. Because the chocolate and caramel notes aren't too heavy, it never feels like I've had too much, which is always dangerous for snacks.

Additionally, there's a nice and varied crunch to everything.

Overall, Turtle Chocolate Chex Mix are really, really good. I could easily eat a whole bag (but don't worry, I stuck to a serving). If you're looking for a sweet (but not too sweet!) and crunchy snack mix with just the right touch of chocolate and caramel, I heartily recommend them.
