McDonald's Offering Sirloin Steak in Australia

McDonald's is grilling up sirloin steak for new salad and wraps over in Australia. They actually call sirloin "rump steak," so it's new "Rump Steak Salad & Wraps." Their "sirloin" is what we call a "porterhouse." Interesting, no?

There are four new wraps in all and one new salad. Here's the full line up:

- Steak and Garlic Aioli McWrap - marinated, slow-cooked and grilled slices of sirloin steak, garlic aioli, lettuce, and tomatoes, wrapped in a warm tortilla.

- $3 Mini Steak Taster - a snack wrap version of the Steak and Garlic Aioli McWrap minus the tomatoes (or as the Aussies say "to-mah-toes").

- Steak and BBQ McWrap - sliced sirloin steak, barbecue sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes, wrapped in a warm tortilla.

- Steak & Egg Brekkie Wrap - pieces of sirloin steak, bacon, scrambled eggs, grilled onions, and barbecue sauce in a warm flour tortilla.

- Steak Salad with Thai Dressing - strips of sirloin steak, Thai-style dressing, grape tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, carrots, red cabbage, and lettuce.

They're doing something pretty interesting to promote the new salad and wraps. They built a giant lunch box (that they call "The Big Lunchbox") that serves as a pop-up restaurant that will be touring a few cities in Australia and sampling Mini Steak Taster Wraps. If you happen to be reading this from Australia, it'll be in Melbourne until Friday and then it'll move on to the Gold Coast, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide.
