Review: Pepperidge Farm - Cinnamon Bun Cookies

Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Bun Cookies are part of their Coffee Shop line and feature soft-baked cookies dusted with cinnamon sugar and cream cheese-flavored chips.

I got a 8.6-oz bag for $1.99 on sale.

There aren't any real surprises here. The cookies somewhat taste like soft-baked snickerdoodles due to the cinnamon sugar, but with a texture veering towards a softer cinnamon roll feel. It also doesn't have the same sugar cookie flavor. Personally, I would have preferred they stuck to a more cookie-like feel.

Interestingly, pumpkin is listed among the ingredients. I couldn't really taste it, so I guess it might be there to add more depth or soft texture.

The cream cheese-flavor chips add an extra kick of creamy sweetness. The cookie is already plenty sweet, but I guess they have to go for the whole cinnamon roll experience.

Overall, I didn't really care for Pepperidge Farm's Cinnamon Bun cookies, but then again, I'm not a fan of their hybrid cake/pie/miscellaneous dessert-cookies. I tried a number of them now and they just don't work for me. I'd much prefer their regular Snickerdoodles over these. Still, if you're a fan of their Dessert Shop or Coffee Shop lines, you'll probably want to try the Cinnamon Bun cookies.
