Review: El Pollo Loco - Chocolate Churros

El Pollo Loco's Chocolate Churros are basically a chocolate version of their more traditional cinnamon churros.

An order of two 8-inch churros cost me $1.19.

These have a nice crispy shell as well as a dusting of cinnamon sugar.

Inside, there's an airy but moist chocolaty crumb that reminds me of a fresh-made chocolate donut but with a bit more stretch and chew to it.

Overall, El Pollo Loco's Chocolate Churros are pretty good, especially if you think you'd like a hit of cocoa flavor with the fried crunch and chew of a churro. They're sweet but not overly so and offer a good amount of textural variety. Also, they're fairly cheap at two for $1.19, but I suppose not McDonald's-pie cheap.
