Review: Jack in the Box - Enchilada Monster Taco

Jack in the Box's Enchilada Monster Taco features a crunchy taco with a seasoned meat filling, lettuce, melted cheddar cheese, and enchilada sauce.

I bought one for $1.89.

Jack in the Box's Monster Taco lends itself well to delivering an enchilada-like experience. Between the greasy, partially soft and crunchy corn tortilla and paste-like meat filling, all you need is cheese and enchilada sauce to complete the experience.

I thought the enchilada sauce might be too similar to Jack in the Box's taco sauce, but it's more robust, less tangy, and just a little spicy. It works out pretty well with the seasoning of the meat.

The cheese comes thoroughly melted and provides a nice sharpness. There's not a lot of it but the flavor's there.

The lettuce isn't usually found in/on an enchilada but is common enough to crunchy tacos and gives the dish some freshness as well as crispness.

Overall, Jack in the Box Enchilada Monster Taco really does taste a lot like an enchilada, and a pretty good rendition at that. It might not seem much of a departure from the original Monster Taco, but it really does set itself apart.
