Review: Trader Joe's - Peppermint Pretzel Slims

Trader Joe's Peppermint Pretzel Slims feature thin pretzel crisps with a sweet creamy coating sprinkled with crushed peppermint.

A 6-oz bag was $2.99.

Compared to other candy or chocolate-coated pretzels, these tilt more in favor of the candy portion, which comes in a fairly thick layer that covers each pretzel completely.

The coating's flavor is similar to white chocolate, with a nice creamy richness. There's a measured amount of sweetness to it and a cool mint finish.

The pretzel crisps seem to be there mostly for crispiness and a dose of salt, for those who like the sweet and savory combination, as well as the familiar pretzel flavor.

Overall, Trader Joe's Peppermint Pretzel Slims are really good. While the pretzel to candy ratio is a bit off, the candy isn't too sweet and the pretzel makes a fine showing. The peppermint fits the season and the pretzel crisps give a slightly different texture than your regular pretzels.
