Review: Cheetos - Sweetos

Cheetos Sweetos feature cinnamon sugar-flavored versions of the iconic corn puff snack.

It was $1.99 for a 7-oz bag on sale.

These are only available for a limited-time and are Easter-themed so they come shaped vaguely like Easter eggs.

Sweetos are actually lighter than the puffed version of Cheetos. So much so that if you hold them up to the light, they're translucent. You still get a good deal of that puffy crispiness out of them but with a more delicate structure.

Taste-wise, there's a really strong and a little unexpected buttery top note to these. There's also a fair bit of saltiness that can come off pretty sharp to the cinnamon-sugar mix. It's an interesting and novel combination but I'm a bit on the fence about it.

Overall, Cheetos Sweetos provide an interesting first look at the sweeter side of Cheetos but also deliver some odd flavors that I'm not quite sure I like. They're worth trying but you might find yourself pausing before deciding whether you like them because it's an odd melding of sweet cinnamon with buttery saltiness.
