Frozen Friday: Breyers - Mint Chocolate Gelato Indulgences

Breyers Mint Chocolate Gelato Indulgences features mint gelato swirled with fudge and topped with chocolate curls.

It sells for $3.99 at my local supermarket but I received this 28.5-fl oz. tub courtesy of Breyers.

This flavor is definitely aimed at those who prefer milder flavors. The mint in particular was fairly light and doesn't leave a tingle on the tongue; it's definitely not going to freshen your breath, even a little.

The fudge swirl was surprisingly light in the sweet department and added a dark chocolate element to the mellow mintiness.

The gelato was creamy and more dense than regular ice cream, but looked to have a bit too much thickening and/or gelling agents. It was slightly too gummy and almost had a chew to it. It's not bad but it's a little weird.

The chocolate curls add a richer chocolate component and a thin, crisp texture. They only appear on top though so you may want to be judicious in how you eat them.

Overall, Breyers Mint Chocolate Gelato Indulgences was fairly enjoyable, especially if you tend towards more mellow ice creams. You might want to pass if you prefer more bolder, richer flavors though.
