Review: Del Taco - Salsa Fresca Chicken Taco

Del Taco's Salsa Fresca Chicken Taco features marinated grilled chicken topped with pico de gallo, folded inside two warm corn tortillas.

I bought one for $1.

For $1, the taco came stuffed with chicken to the point where some fell out as I picked it up. The pieces came in smaller bits than usual but had that same juicy, flavorful taste.

The pico de gallo was nice enough with a tangy, tomato freshness but was a bit lacking on the onion front. I could have used a bit to balance out the tomatoes and enhance the chicken.

The corn tortillas were moist enough and held together. They don't appeared to be grilled so there's none of that added texture or char you might get from a taco truck but they do the job.

Overall, Del Taco's Salsa Fresca Chicken Taco presents a nice value and a surprising amount of tasty chicken for $1. You might want to grab some extra sauce though as it could use some oomph.
