Review: Jack in the Box - Spicy Nacho Chicken Sandwich

Jack in the Box's Spicy Nacho Chicken Sandwich is part of their late-night menu and features a spicy fried chicken filet, onion rings, nacho cheese sauce, and jalapenos on toasted sourdough.

It's normally $6 as the entree for a Munchie Meal, which also comes with Halfsie fries (half curly, half regular fries), two Tacos, and a fountain drink). It's available for that price after 9 PM until 5 AM and costs $8 (may vary) outside those hours.

Between the slightly buttered sourdough, the crispy chicken filet, and the onion rings, there's a nice, satisfying crunch factor to the sandwich.

Unfortunately, the chicken filet was very thin, a little dry, and largely overshadowed by the cheese and jalapenos, which delivered the "nacho" premise quite well.

The jalapenos were reasonably spicy. The jalapeno juices seemed to intermingle with the cheese, which gave it a bit of a kick as well. Like the flavor, the heat of the chicken was hard to make out over the nacho combination.

The two onion rings were good for a nice crunch and just a bit of sweetness.

Overall, Jack in the Box's Spicy Nacho Chicken Sandwich was a bit of a miss for me due to the underwhelming and under-sized chicken filet, although it did have a crispy shell. I think I might have been happier if they just gave me an order of onion rings covered in nacho cheese and jalapenos.
