Carnitas Back at 90% of Chipotle Restaurants

If you've been missing carnitas on the Chipotle menu since they removed it due to supplier issues, you'll be happy to know that the company has restored most of its pork supply and is once again serving carnitas in 90 percent of Chipotle restaurants.

For those in the 10 percent without carnitas (in the Cleveland and Atlanta areas and in North and South Carolina), Chipotle expects the pork will be available in all locations by the end of November.

The company earlier this year suspended one of its primary pork suppliers when auditing found that the supplier wasn't meeting Chipotle's animal welfare protocols. The resulting pork shortage left the chain unable to supply pork for carnitas to a third of their restaurants. The company has since replenished its supply by working with existing suppliers and adding a new supplier, United Kingdom-based Karro Food.
