Review: Archer Farms - Blueberry Streusel Breakfast Bread

Target's Archer Farms Blueberry Streusel Breakfast Bread features a loaf of bread interspersed with blueberries and topped with streusel.

I picked up a 20-oz loaf for $3.99.

If you like blueberry muffins, you can consider Blueberry Streusel Breakfast Bread to be a lighter, less sweet version of the same. Or, you can consider it the blueberry version of cinnamon raisin bread.

Instead of the denser muffin texture, there's an airier soft bread consistency but with the same sweet blueberry taste. There's a lot of blueberries per slice so you get that flavor in pretty much every bite.

The streusel doesn't do much here though. I was expecting maybe some buttery sweetness or crunchy crumbles but instead it was mushy and not much sweeter than the blueberries.

I ended up trying several ways to heat these up: grilling with butter, toasting, and microwaving. As you might have guessed, grilling with butter turned out the best. Besides everything being better with butter, the surface developed a nice crunch, while the inside remained warm, moist, and soft.

Perhaps because of the thinness of the slice, the toasted slice was toasted all the way through and rather dry as a result.

Microwaving made the slice warm and soft but also a little chewy.

Overall, I really like Archer Farms Blueberry Streusel Breakfast Bread. There's a plenty of blueberries and blueberry flavor in an enjoyable loaf of soft, sweet bread.
