A Comparison of McDonald's Holiday Cups: U.S. vs. U.K.

McDonald's gets in the holiday spirit with festive McCafe cups for the U.S. and U.K. markets.

Here in the States, we get holiday-themed cups in bright colors featuring wintry items such as a Christmas wreath, fuzzy hat, and horn.

Our friends over in the U.K. get animal-themed holiday cups featuring adorable caricatures of a reindeer, penguin, and robin on a white background.

Over in Finland, they have a colored variation of the U.K. cups, once again featuring the reindeer but eschewing the penguin and robin in favor of a snowman and Christmas tree. Plus, they get a Gingerbread Latte.

Meanwhile, China receives what is arguably the most festive McCafe cup design of the year: a green cup featuring a gingerbread man complete with a Santa hat. If the gingerbread man didn't give it away, they too get a Gingerbread Latte.

I'm feeling like we got the shaft here in the U.S. because our McCafe holiday cups are the simplest and least exciting. I want a cute reindeer with a coffee bean nose, too!
