Review: Taco Bell - Sriracha Chicken Crunchwrap Slider

Taco Bell's Sriracha Chicken Crunchwrap Slider features the chain's version of Sriracha sauce, shredded chicken, and Fritos Corn Chips, wrapped hexagonally in a flour tortilla and grilled.

I picked one up for $1.

Taco Bell's Sriracha sauce took front and center for this one and there's not much in the way of distractions. It offered a tangy, slightly creamy, chili pepper flavor with a strong dose of spicy heat (enough to make my nose run).

The shredded chicken was moist but not mushy. Its lightly seasoned flavor meshed well with the Sriracha sauce; more so than their seasoned beef.

The Fritos Corn Chips turned a bit soft within the steamy confines of the Crunchwrap's interior but still managed a light crunch to go with the taste of salty fried corn.

The grilling of the flour tortilla mostly just gave the Crunchwrap a nice color. If you're grabbing one to go, the surface browning will be soft unless you eat it right there and then (or ask them to grill it longer).

Overall, Taco Bell's Sriracha Chicken Crunchwrap Slider showcases Taco Bell's spicy Sriracha sauce really well, while still offering a simple combination of complementary textures and flavors. The result works for me. As far as the heat goes, it's probably good for a light tingle for you spiceheads out there but might be a bit much if you're more towards the middle of the heat-seeking spectrum.
