Review: Starbucks - Chicken Artichoke on Flatbread Sandwich

Starbucks Chicken Artichoke on Ancient Grain Flatbread sandwich features grilled chicken breast, roasted artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomato pesto, and provolone cheese on ancient grain flatbread.

It goes for $6.45 but I saved up enough points through their loyalty rewards program to get it for free.

The flatbread crisped up rather nicely from the oven. There was a discernible shell to it with a chewy crumb underneath that kept it from feeling like a cracker.

The filling was pretty simple but good. The chicken was moist and meaty with just enough for a thin layer of coverage (although I had to rearrange it a little). The artichoke was tender and flavorful. The provolone combined with the tomato pesto and the flatbread gave the sandwich a bit of a pizza-like dimension. Not so much that it didn't feel like a sandwich but it definitely brings a thin-crust Italian pie to mind.

Overall, Starbucks Chicken Artichoke on Ancient Flatbread turned out really nice. True to the name, the chicken and artichoke were front and center, the cheese was fully melted, and I very much enjoyed the crispy crust on the flatbread. I've tried a number of their sandwiches now and would put this one and the Turkey & Havarti at the top so far.
