Organic Soup is Coming to Starbucks in 2017

Starbucks is looking to spring of 2017 for a regional rollout of new organic soups.

Chicken and tomato soup are to be among the available selection. While details are sparse thus far, if the provided picture is any indication, the chicken soup looks to include quinoa and spinach or some other leafy green.

Given the organic label and non-traditional ingredient, the new menu items would be seem to compete against similar offerings from Panera Bread, which, in addition to serving soup, also serves broth bowls.

Additionally, Starbucks plans to expand their grab-and-go lunch options with new varieties of Bistro Boxes, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

The chain has yet to specify which regions would be getting the soups but I would guess they'd be available in the colder areas of the US.
