Review: Hostess - Chocolate Twinkies

Hostess Chocolate Twinkies feature chocolate cake rather than golden sponge cake to go with the standard vanilla creme filling.

A 13.58-oz box cost me $2.79.

These aren't markedly different from Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes or Suzy Qs. The cake is fairly light and soft but not so much that it's fluffy. It's pretty moist as well with the same bit of stickiness of regular Twinkies.

There's a pleasant and sweet chocolate flavor to it and if the creme doesn't offer much in the way of vanilla or creaminess, it does lend a whipped cream taste and feel.

As far as snack goes, Hostess Chocolate Twinkies seem a little redundant but are pretty well made and tasty to boot.
