Review: Denny's - Cranberry Orange Pancakes

Denny's Cranberry Orange Pancakes feature two buttermilk pancakes with cranberries cooked inside and topped with orange cream cheese icing.

I paid $8.79 for the pancakes with scrambled eggs, sausage links, and hash browns (It'll cost you around $6 for just the pancakes).

The pancakes were nice and fluffy with slightly chewy, dried cranberries. There seemed to be some holiday spice to the pancakes as they were lightly brown inside. They contained a slight bitterness that was strange because the cream with all the zest as well as the dried cranberries themselves didn't offer the same bitterness.

The creamy was very sweet as if it were half glaze-half cream. It was much sweeter than their vanilla cream. It offered a strong orange zest flavor but was a bit of clumpy due to all the bits of orange peel.

Taken altogether, Denny's Cranberry Orange Pancakes were a mixed bag for me. I liked the texture of the pancakes, the strong note of orange, and the cranberries but the overwhelming sweetness of the cream had me scraping most of it off.
