McDonald's Japan Serves Up New Frappe Topped with a Caramel Popcorn-Filled Ice Cream Cone

As part of a caramel popcorn-themed series of beverages, McDonald's is offering a Caramel Popcorn Frappe with a sugar cone filled with caramel popcorn stuck into it over in Japan.

Beyond the caramel-popcorn-filled ice cream cone, the new Frappe consists of espresso, caramel syrup, popcorn syrup, and milk blend with ice, topped with caramel-flavored whipped cream and caramel sauce.

The Caramel Popcorn Frappe joined by two other caramel-popcorn-topped drinks: the Caramel Popcorn Latte and Iced Caramel Popcorn Latte. Unlike the Frappe, they only come topped with the popcorn and not the cone.

The new drinks are offered at McDonald's "McCafe by Barista" cafe concept. The concept is basically a Starbucks-like cafe with a standalone counter inside of select McDonald's restaurants in Japan. Like Starbucks, they do a number of limited-time themed drink menu following certain seasons and trends.
