The new flame-grilled chicken breast is seasoned with a blend of onion powder, garlic powder, green and red bell peppers, olive oil, and oregano. It is also glazed with maltodextrin, dried garlic, dried onion, and dried bell peppers.
The test features several menu items, including (prices are from my local Burger King here in Los Angeles):
- Flame-Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($6.99) - A flame-grilled chicken breast filet, Royal Sauce, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes on a toasted potato bun.
- Spicy Flame-Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($6.99) - A flame-grilled chicken breast filet coated in a triple pepper spicy glaze served with Royal Sauce, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes on a toasted potato bun.
- Bacon and Swiss Flame-Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($7.89) - A flame-grilled chicken breast filet, Swiss cheese, bacon, Royal Sauce, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes on a toasted potato bun.
- Classic Flame-Grilled Chicken Wrap ($3.49) - Half a flame-grilled chicken breast filet, Royal Sauce, tomato, and shredded lettuce, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
- Spicy Flame-Grilled Chicken Wrap ($3.49) - Half a flame-grilled chicken breast filet coated with a triple pepper spicy glaze, Royal Sauce, tomato, and shredded lettuce, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
- Honey Mustard Flame-Grilled Chicken Wrap ($3.49) - Half a flame-grilled chicken breast filet, honey mustard sauce, tomato, and shredded lettuce, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
The move is an interesting one since rivals McDonald's and Wendy's have largely abandoned grilled chicken sandwiches.
