Characterized as a "swicy" (a trendy way of saying "sweet and spicy") dish, Panda Express' Hot Orange Chicken takes the chain's signature Orange Chicken and pushes up the heat with six times more crushed chili peppers over the original. Scorched dried chili peppers (the same as in the chain's Kung Pao Chicken) are also thrown in.
To celebrate the limited-time menu items return and National Orange Chicken Day (July 15, 2025), Panda Express will be holding an "Orange Chicken Kitchen" pop-up at the Panda Express restaurant in Midtown NYC (at 835 3rd Ave) from July 15 through July 20, 2025, during normal open hours.
The pop-up will include an exclusive "I Love Orange Chicken" menu that will include a new wing recipe inspired by bone-in Orange Chicken, the return of Orange Chicken with Bacon, and Hot Orange Chicken. It will also feature Orange Chicken-themed art installations, orange lounge space, and giveaways. During the pop-up, the location will be offering a deal from 2PM to 4PM, where you can get a free small entree of Original Orange Chicken or Hot Orange Chicken when you buy any plate.
