I bought one of each flavor/sauce, and they cost $2.99 each.
When I received these, I was surprised, as they were quite big for something designated as a "snack" and significantly larger than I remember Snack Wraps ever being. It also made me apprehensive, as McCrispy Strips aren't that big.
As it turned out, the tortilla for the Snack Wrap was rather large at about seven and a half inches in diameter, which is probably enough to fold up the McCrispy Strip into a burrito. Six inches is more typical for similar wraps and soft tacos. This made for a lot more tortilla than chicken. The tortilla was quite plush and a little pillowy like a pita. This did not help the feeling that I was mostly just eating a sauced tortilla. On the plus side, the tortilla was soft and pliable while still being easy to bite through.
Beyond the overly large tortilla, my Snack Wraps suffered from some executional issues as well. The lettuce was wilted from the heat of the chicken, but the fried chicken strips weren't crunchy in either wrap. The chicken inside was moist, tender, and decently meaty, though.
The shreds of cheese were thicker than usual and flat. They were melted here and there, but only contributed a very mild flavor.
The sauces provided a bulk of the Snack Wraps' flavor. The Ranch was pretty standard with tangy, creamy notes, while the Spicy Pepper sauce provided a surprising amount of spicy heat to go with a tangy mayo base. Between the two, I would go with the Spicy Pepper sauce for the added heat.
When it comes down to it, McDonald's new Snack Wraps were a complete miss for me. While it's been a long time, I remember the old version being better in texture, taste, and proportion. Compared to the recent slate of competitors' snack wraps that I've tried, McDonald's Snack Wraps were the most tortilla-forward and least crispy of the bunch (and by that, I meant there wasn't any crispiness to be found, but you might have better luck on that front).
