Little Caesars' Double Pepperoni Crazy Crust Pizza features a large round pizza topped with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Old World Pepperoni, and toasted Parmesan & Asiago Cheese, finished with Little Caesars' signature Garlic Parmesan Crazy Crust. It's a test item that just wrapped up in the Los Angeles and Oklahoma City areas.
I bought one for $8.99, which is just $1 more than Little Caesars' Classic Pepperoni Pizza. For the extra $1, I got more pepperoni variety, more pepperoni quantity, and the extra crust flavor.
Even though the pizza came fresh from the oven, the crust surface was oddly soft all around. Inside, it was fairly dense and slightly chewy. However, it turned nice and crispy on subsequent reheats without drying out inside. The end crust had a buttery, mild garlic and parmesan flavor.
There was plenty of melty cheese atop the pizza to balance out the pizza sauce. The Parmesan & Asiago cheese sprinkled on top added a bit of a toasty cheese note.
The Old World Pepperoni added a needed crispiness and a mild spicy heat, while the regular pepperoni offered a fuller, meatier flavor.
Overall, Little Caesars' Double Pepperoni Crazy Crust Pizza offered a surprising amount of flavors and textures between the various cheeses, pepperoni, and buttery garlic flavor. For an extra $1 over the price of the pizza chain's Classic Pepperoni Pizza, it was well worth it. If it makes it out of testing, it should be easy to roll out as it's made with currently stocked ingredients.
