Photo Gallery: Taco Bell Headquarters Tour

I got to tour Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine, CA recently as they were preparing for the launch of the Doritos Locos Taco. I thought I'd share some of the highlights of the tour and something I whipped up in their test kitchen (it might take a while to load, there are quite a few pictures).

News: Taco Bell - New A.M. Crunchwrap and Mountain Dew A.M.

Taco Bell restaurants serving "First Meal" (aka breakfast) have two new menu items available: the A.M. Crunchwrap and Mountain Dew A.M.

The A.M. Crunchwrap is a kitchen-sink variant of Taco Bell's signature Crunchwrap Supreme and is filled with your fast food breakfast staples including scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, cheese and a hash brown all wrapped up. It's priced at $2.49.

Feature: Taco Bell's Cantina Bell Preview

Taco Bell recently invited me to a dinner previewing their upcoming Cantina Bell menu (debuting nationally on July 5) as well as to meet with celebrity chef Lorena Garcia (competing this summer on Top Chef Masters; no, she wouldn't say who won, but hopes you will cheer for her) who they partnered with to develop the recipes behind the new menu.

Since Taco Bell's breakfast menu launches nationally tomorrow, here's a handy reference to what you'll find on the menu along with prices (may vary) and nutritional info.

Waffle Taco - nestled in a taco-shaped waffle, it's available with sausage or bacon (or with no meat at all), and also comes with scrambled eggs and and shredded cheddar. A syrup container comes on the side.

Review: Taco Bell - Cantina Bowl

Taco Bell's Cantina Bowl marks an expansion of Taco Bell's menu (with the Cantina Bell menu) and conspicuously resembles the Burrito Bowl at Chipotle. Like Chipotle, you can have it customized however you want it, but it's not assembled in front of you in Subway fashion.

By default, it comes with all-new ingredients including citrus-herb marinated chicken, black beans, guacamole made from Hass avocados, pico de gallo, roasted corn & pepper salsa, romaine lettuce, and a creamy cilantro dressing, and a bed of cilantro rice. It's also available in a veggie configuration or with steak.

Preview of Exclusive National Taco Day Taco Bell Test Kitchen Dinner

It's National Taco Day today and as part of the festivities at Taco Bell, they're holding an exclusive dinner for 32 lucky fans tonight at their Test Kitchen at Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine, CA. It's a reservation-only event that was fully booked in seconds.

Fortunately, I was able to attend a media preview of the event to learn what's going to be on the 5-course taco-focused menu as well as try a few of the dishes.

Taco Bell Tests New Coffee and Churro Chillers at Select Locations in Southern California

Taco Bell looks to offer their first-ever frozen coffees and shakes with a test of new Coffee Chillers and new Churro Chillers at select locations in Southern California for a limited time starting Friday, December 15, 2023. "Select locations" in this instance means just one location is testing Coffee Chillers and another location is testing Churro Chillers.

Taco Bell's Double Decker Taco makes a limited-time return to the Taco Bell menu as an online-exclusive for a limited time starting today through Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at participating locations nationwide.

Review: Taco Bell - Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries

Taco Bell's Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries feature seasoned fries topped with slow-roasted chicken, nacho cheese sauce, three-cheese blend (cheddar, pepper jack, and mozzarella), Secret Aardvark Serrabanero Ranch Sauce, pico de gallo, and reduced-fat sour cream.

Review: Taco Bell - Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco

Taco Bell's Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco features new, braised, seasoned, shredded beef served with Creamy Jalapeño sauce inside of a fresh-fried-daily white corn taco shell (the same one they used for the Crispy Cantina Melt Taco) with a three-cheese blend (cheddar, mozzarella, and pepper jack) melted inside the shell and grilled on the outside of the shell. Each taco comes with warm nacho cheese sauce and savory red sauce for dipping.

Taco Bell's Cantina Chicken Bowl features a bowl filled with new slow-cooked Cantina Chicken, black beans, seasoned rice, iceberg lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, Avocado Ranch Sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and shredded cheddar cheese. It comes with a packet of new Avocado Salsa Verde.

Taco Bell's Loaded Beef Nachos sees a bed of crunchy tortilla chips topped with seasoned ground beef, refried beans, reduced-fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, red sauce, and guacamole. They're part of Taco Bell's new $3 or Less Cravings Value Menu.

A slew of new breakfast items are hitting Taco Bell starting this Thursday, March 26, 2015, including new Biscuit Tacos, a trio of new Crispy Chicken items, and Mountain Dew Kickstart soda and I got to check all them out at a recent preview event at Taco Bell headquarters.

Review: Taco Bell - Steak Cheesy Street Chalupa

Taco Bell's Steak Cheesy Street Chalupa features a small Chalupa shell (fried flatbread) and a small flour tortilla with a toasty layer of melted mozzarella and pepper jack between them. Taco Bell's New Cantina Chicken Menu Arrives

Taco Bell's new Mobile App Lets You Order Ahead and Pick Up at the Drive-Thru

Taco Bell just released their new mobile ordering and payment app so that you can now order and pay ahead before going through the drive-thru to pick up your food (you just drive up and tell them you ordered via the app). You can also pick up your order inside.

Review: Taco Bell - Cantina Tacos

Taco Bell's new Cantina Tacos are Taco Bell's take on the street taco and are available priced at $1.49 for one, $2.79 for two, or $4.99 for three and a large drink. Like the basic street taco, corn tortillas are folded around a simple filling of your choice of meat, onions, and cilantro.

News: Taco Bell Sauce Packets Now Available by the Bottle

As part of a larger update of the Taco Bell retail/grocery line of products made in partnership by Kraft, you can now get Taco Bell sauce packet flavors by the bottle (complete with witty sayings).

The full line up is available including Mild , Hot, and Fire sauces, plus Verde Salsa.

The introduction of the new bottles are part of an expansion and update of the line, which includes a redesign of all the packages to reflect Taco Bell's current "Live Mas" slogan. New products include sauces, dressings, desserts, and dinner kits.
