KFC Tests New Zinger Sandwich

KFC is testing its new Zinger Sandwich at participating locations throughout California.

The new sandwich is meant to be a spicier, more flavorful version of the Zinger Sandwich launched (and rather quickly discontinued) in 2017. The new Zinger Sandwich features a "spicy marinated chicken breast with that Extra Crispy crunch, shredded lettuce, and creamy Colonel’s Mayo on a toasted brioche bun."

Compared to the previous version, KFC has changed the recipe for the chicken breast filet and swapped out the sesame seed bun for the toasted brioche bun. It's interesting to note that, if it makes it out of testing, the Zinger Sandwich would be the only menu item containing lettuce on the KFC menu.

Prices vary, but the sandwich costs $6.49 at a local KFC here in Los Angeles, which is the same price as the chain's Classic Chicken Sandwich.
